BSP: OFW remittance, tumaas noong Enero

Tumaas ang remittance o ipinadalang pera ng mga overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) sa unang buwan ng 2019.

Batay sa datos na inilabas ng Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), lumago sa 3.4 percent ang personal remittances noong Enero.

Ayon kay BSP Governor Banjamin Diokno, mula $2.66 billion ay tumaas sa $2.75 billion ang OFW remmittances.

Nasa 2.3 percent o $2.12 billion mula $2.07 billion ang itinaas ng remittance ng land-based OFWs na may kontratang isang tao o mahigit pa.

Para naman sa sea-based OFWs na may kontratang walang 1 taon, lumago ng 12.6 percent o $580 million mula $520 million ang remittance.

Tumaas din ang money transfers na idinaan sa mga bangko sa 4.4 percent o $2.48 billion mula $2.38 billion.

Ang Estados Unidos ang nagtala ng pinakamataas na share sa overall remittance sa 35.5 percent.

Sumunod ang padala ng mga OFW mula Saudi Arabia, Singapore, United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates, Japan, Canada, Qatar, Hong Kong, at Kuwait.
