3 milyong tonelada ng plastic nagamit ng Coca-Cola sa kanilang packaging

Sa kauna-unahang pagkakataon ay isiniwalat ng Coca-Cola na nakagamit sila ng 3 milyong tonelada ng plastic packaging sa loob lamang ng isang taon.

Ito ang lumalabas sa ulat ng Ellen MacArthur Foundation na humihimok sa mga kumpanya at gobyerno na gumawa ng paraan para solusyonan ang plastic pollution.

Ang tatlong milyong tonelada ay sinlaki ng pinagsama-samang 15,000 blue whales.

Noong nakaraang taon ay nangako na ang naturng kumpanya na irerecycle ang used bottles at cans.

Batay sa report, 31 kumpanya ang isiniwalat ang kanilang plastic usage, kabilang dito ang Nestle, Colgate at Unilever.

Ang Nestle ay nakagamit ng 1.7 milyong tonelada ng plastic; Colgate 287,008 tonelada noon lamang 2018; at Unilever na may 610,000 tonelada.

Samantala, umabot na sa 150 kumpanya ang nangako na babawasan ang kanilang paggamit ng plastic.
