Rep. Velasco: ‘EVOSS Law, makahihikayat ng mas maraming pamumuhunan’
Welcome kay Marinduque Rep. Lord Allan Velasco ang paglagda ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte sa Energy Virtual One-Stop Shop (EVOSS) Act na layong padaliin ang proseso sa power generation, transmission at distribution projects.
Ayon kay Velasco, chairman ng House Committee on Energy, dahil sa batas ay mababawasan ang gastos sa pagnenegosyo sa bansa at makahihikayat ito ng mas maraming pamumuhunan.
Sa ilalim ng batas, pwedeng mag-apply, magmonitor at tumanggap ang mga potensyal na prospective power generation, transmission o distribution companies ng lahat ng kaukulang permits gayundin ang magbayad ng charges at fees sa pamamagitan ng online platform na tinatawag na EVOSS.
Oras na maging epektibo, mababawasan ang proseso ng pagkuha ng permit na isang matagal na paraan at inayawan dati ng mga investors.
Ayon kay Velasco, ang naturang sistema ay pamumunuan ng Department of Energy (DOE) habang ang operasyon nito ay imomonitor ng EVOSS Steering Committee.
“There will be a marked reduction in the cost of doing business for power generation companies. This would encourage competition by attracting more power generation companies to invest in the country, and most importantly, this would translate to lower generation charges because of the reduced cost of doing business,” ani Velasco
Sa pamamagitan ng pagtanggal sa umanoy red tape sa proseso ng bagong power plants, sinabi ng kongresista na mas maraming dayuhan at lokal na kumpanya ang mahihikayat na magnegosyo sa bansa.
“The usual cost of building power plants regardless of technology will be greatly lessened by EVOSS. We expect the electricity generation costs to go down because of lesser financial costs on the part of the investors,” pahayag nito.
Dagdag ni Velasco, sa pagsusulong ng power generation investment sa bansa, malaking tulong ang EVOSS sa pagtugon sa kinakailangang enerhiya sa hinaharap.
