Inanunsyo ng Malacañang ang appointment sa pamahalaan ng isang dating Philippine National Police PNP) general at isang dating transportation official.
Si dating Davao Region Police Director Manuel Gaerlan ay itinalaga ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte bilang board member sa Clark Development Corporation na siyang namamahala sa the Clark Special Economic Zone (CSEZ).
Ang kanyang one-year term tour of duty ay magsisimula sa July 1, 2018 at magtatapos sa June 30, 2019.
Si dating Transportation Undersecretary Dante Lantin ay itinalaga naman ng pangulo bilang board member sa Philippine Racing Commission (PHILRACOM) para sa apat na taong termino.
Ang appointment ng dalawang mga bagong opisyal sa Duterte administration ay nilagdaan ng pangulo noong February 28.
