Higit 1,500 pagong mula Hong Kong naharang ng Customs sa NAIA

Aabot sa 1,529 na buhay na pagong mula Hong Kong na ipupuslit dapat sa Pilipinas ang nakumpiska ng Bureau of Customs sa NAIA Terminal 2.

Ayon sa ulat ng Customs-NAIA nadiskubre ang mga pagong sa apat na inabandonang bagahe mula sa isang pasahero ng Philippine Airlines flight PR 311.

Inaalam na ang pagkakakilanlan ng suspek sa pamamagitan ng surveillance footages.

Nai-turn over na sa Department of Environment and Natural Resources – Wildlife Traffic Monitoring Unit ang mga pagong na sinasabing nagkakahalaga ng P4.5 milyon.

Ayon sa Customs, ang illegal wildlife trading ay paglabag sa Customs Modernization and Tariff Act at Wildlife Resources Conservation and Protection Act.
