Pilipinas binalaan ni US State Sec. Pompeo sa paggamit ng Huawei products
Hindi napigilan ni US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo na muling banatan ang Chinese telecom equipment maker na Huawei.
Posibleng anyang magkaroon ng isyu sa negosyo ang ilang American companies sa bansa dahil sa paggamit ng ilang lokal na telcos ng 5G gear mula sa Huawei.
Pinayuhan rin niya ang pamahalaan pati na rin ang mga telecom firm sa bansa sa security risks na dulot ng paggamit sa Huawei products.
Sa US ay hindi pinayagan ang pagpasok ng mga produktong gawa ng Huawei dahil sa isyu ng national security.
Sa tinatawag na “gray market” naging available ang Huawei sa nasabing bansa.
Ayon pa kay Pompeo, “Our task has been to share with the world the risks associated with that technology: the risks to the Philippine people, the risk to Philippine security, the risk that America may not be able to operate in certain environments if there is Huawei technology adjacent to that.”
Nauna nang inakusahan ng US State Department ang Huawei ng pagbibigay ng mga pribadong impormasyon sa Chinese government bagay na ilang beses nang itinanggi ng nasabing kumpanya.
