DepEd: Graduation ceremony, para na lamang sa senior high school grads

Ang mga magtatapos ng Senior High School ang magkakaroon na lamang graduation ceremony ayon sa Department of Education (DepEd).

Ibig sabihin, simula sa School Year 2018-2019 ay wala ng graduation ceremony para sa mga Kindergarten, Grade 6 at Grade 10 students sa pampubliko at pribadong eskwelahan.

Ayon kay Education Sec. Leonor Briones, ang pwede lamang magsagawa ng graduation ceremony ay ang mga Grade 12 graduates sa mga eskwelahan na may K to 12 transition plan na aprubado ng ahensya, mga eskwelahan na may permit na mag-operate ng Senior High School mula 2014 at international schools na may K to 12 Program.

Ang anunsyo ay alinsunod sa DepEd Order K to 12 Basic Education Program End of School Year Rites para sa School Year 2018-2019.

Sinabi ni Briones na ang mga Kindergarten, Grades 6 at 10 ay magkakaroon ng “moving up” o “completion” exercises.

Tatanggap ang Kindergarten learner ng Kindergarten Certificate habang ang Grade 6 learner ay Elementary Certificate at ang Grade 10 learner ay Junior High School Certificate samantalang ang Senior High School graduates ay tatanggap ng Diploma.

Paliwanag ni DepEd Undersecretary Annalyn Sevilla, mayroon lamang basic education curriculum o program na inaalok ng ahensya, ito ang K to 12 Program kaya isa lamang ang graduation para sa basic education na K to 12 Program.

Nangangahulugan anya ito na tanging mga Senior High School lamang ang magsasagawa ng graduation ceremony para sa kwalipikadong Grade 12 students.

Samantala, iginiit ni Briones na dapat ay simple lamang ang Moving Up o Closing Ceremony ng mga Kindergarten, Grade 6 at Grade 10.
