NCRPO: 238 na mga baril kumpiskado kaugnay sa election gun ban
Umabot nasa 238 ang bilang ng mga baril na nakumpiska ng sa Metro Manila ng mga otoridad simula nang ipatupad ang gun ban sa buong bansa kaugnay sa nalalapit na May 13 midterm elections.
Ang Commission on Elections (Comelec) gun ban ay ipinatupad noong January 13 at tatagal hanggang sa June 12 para matiyak ang kaayusan sa halalan.
Sa ulat ng the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO), umaabot sa 223 na mga baril ang nakuha sa serye ng police operations.
Labing-lima naman ang nakumpiska sa mga checkpoints na inilagat sa ilang lugar sa Metro Manila.
Pinaka-maraming nakumpiskang baril sa mga lugar na sa sakop ng Southern Police District na mayroong 77 mga baril.
Sinabi ni NCRPO Director Guillermo Eleazar na tuloy ang paglalatag ng checkpoints at dagdag na police patrols para matiyak ang kaligtasan ng publiko.
