Duterte nilagdaan ang batas para sa permanenteng cellphone number
Nilagdaan na ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang batas na magbibigay karapatan sa ‘qualified mobile subscribers’ na mapanatili ang kanilang cellphone number lumipat man sila ng service provider.
Nais ng RA 11202 o ang Mobile Number Portability Act o na maitaguyod ang kapakanan ng consumers.
Libre lamang ang bayad sa pagpapanatili ng number ng isang subscriber sa ilalim ng batas.
Kung nais din ng subscriber na palitan ang kanyang subscription plan mula postpaid sa prepaid o vice versa ay posible na rin.
Hindi naman tinukoy ng batas kung sino ang mga ‘qualified subscribers’.
Paplantsahin ng National Telecommunications Commission, Department of Information and Communications Technology, National Privacy Commission, Philippine Competition Commission at iba pang ahensya ng gobyerno ang implementing rules and regulations ng bagong batas.
