Amerika umaasahang mabibigyan ng due process si Maria Ressa

Umaasa ang Embahada ng Amerika sa Pilipinas na mapagkakalooban ng due process si Rappler CEO Maria Ressa.

Sa statement na inilabas ng US Embassy, umaasa din itong mareresolba ng mabilis ang kaso ng mamamahayag.

Nakasaad sa pahayag ng embahada na dapat ay maging mabilis ang pagresolba sa kaso nang may pagtugon sa kung anong isinasaad ng batas.

Dagdag pa ng US Embassy dapat ay masunod din ang international standards sa pagbibigay ng due process kay Ressa sa proseso ng kaniyang kinakaharap na kaso.

“We hope the charge against journalist and Rappler CEO Maria Ressa will be resolved quickly in accordance with relevant Philippine law and international standards of due process,” ayon sa pahayag ng US Embassy.

Inaresto si Ressa ng NBI noong Miyerkules dahil sa kasong libel at nakalaya, araw ng Huwebes ng hapon matapos magpiyansa.
