Napatay na umanoy rebelde sa Laguna, isang estudyante
Isa umanong estudyante ng University of the Philippines Los Baños ang umanoy miyembro ng New People’s Army (NPA) na napatay sa enkuwentro sa otoridad sa Laguna.
Kinilala ang nasawi na si John Carlo Capistrano Alberto, undergraduate student ng College of Veterinary Medicine sa UPLB.
Si Alberto, na pumasok sa UPLB noong 2013, ay graduate ng Pandan School for Arts and Technology sa Pandan, Catanduanes.
Ang mga kapwa estudyante ni Alberto, na kilala ang biktima pero tumangging magpakilala para sa kanilang seguridad, ang sumali sa NPA noong nakaraang buwan.
Sa statement ay sinabi ni Captain Patrick Jay Retumban, information officer ng Army 2nd Infantry Division na nangyari ang enkwentro sa Sitio Pinamintian, Barangay San Buenaventura sa Luisiana, Laguna.
Dalawa umanong babaeng rebelde ang nasugatan sa sagupaan.
Sa report naman ng Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon (Calabarzon) regional police, sinalakay ng militar ang kampo ng NPA at narekober ang dalawang improvised explosives, detonators, magazines, sampung tents, walong mobile phones at computer tablet na pinaniniwalaang training materials ng mga rebelde.
