Mas malawak na immunization program, aprubado na sa 2nd reading ng Kamara

Aprubado na sa ikalawang pagbasa ng Kamara ang panukalang batas na layong palawakin ang coverage ng mandatory basic immunization program sa bansa.

Ipinasa ng mga kongresista, ng walang amyenda, ang House Bill 9068 sa pamamagitan ng viva voce vote.

Kapag naging batas, aamyendahan ng bill ang Republic Act 10152 o Mandatory Infants and Children Immunization Act of 2011 kabilang ang listahan ng mga sakit na sakop ng national program.

Masasama sa immunization program ang mga bakuna kontra rotaviurs, Japanese encephalitis, pneumococcal conjugate vaccine at human papilloma virus (HPV).

Pwede namang idagdag sa national vaccination program ang iba pang bakuna kung kailangan ng mga council mula sa Department of Health (DOH).

Ang pag-apruba ng Kamara sa 2nd reading ay sa gitna ng measles outbreak sa Metro Manila, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, Western at Eastern Visayas.
