Tiniyak ng Palasyo ng Nalakanyang na hindi magpapatinag ang mga residente sa Mindanao Region sa sunud-sunod na kaso ng pambobomba para hindi ituloy ang plebisito ng Bangsamoro Organic Law ngayong araw sa Lanao Del Norte at North Cotabato.
Ayon kay Presidential Spokesman Salvador Panelo, hindi kayang pigilan ng mga pambobomba ang mga residente na ituloy ang inaasam na pagbabago na isulong ang pagtatatag ng Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.
“The explosions on the eve of the Bangsamoro Organic Law (BOL) plebiscite stem from acts of cowardice on the part of those who resist change and want to perpetuate the climate of fear, hopelessness and poverty among the Bangsamoro people and the Christian inhabitants in Mindanao,” ayon kay Panelo.
Sinabi pa ni Panelo, nakaalerto na ang mga kagawad ng Philippine National Police (PNP)at Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) para bigyang seguridad ang mga residente.
Iginiit pa ni Panelo na ang sunud-sunod na pambobomba sa Mindanao ay kagagawan ng mga duwag na takot na magkaroon ng pagbabago sa lipunan kung kaya idinadaan na lamang sa mga pananakot.
“No amount of bombing or terroristic act will scare, intimidate nor threaten the voters from participating in today’s plebiscite. We assure the electorate in that part of Mindanao that the Armed Forces of the Philippines has provided safeguards for their safety and will be in full alert to thwart any attempt from any armed group or terrorist to derail the present democratic process,” dagdag pa ni Panelo.
Bagamat kalunus-lunos ang mga pambobomba, sinabi ni Panelo na kumpiyansa ang pamahalaan na mananaig sa puso ng mga peace loving residents ng Lanao Del Norte at North Cotabato ang pagsusulong ng demokrasya at kapayapaan sa lugar.
