Problema sa kalusugan dahilan ng pag-atras ni Atty. Harry Roque ng kanyang kandidatura sa pagka-senador
Umatras na sa kanyang kandidatura bilang Senador si Atty. Harry Roque.
Sa kanyang isang pahinang pahayag sa media, sinabi ni Roque na dahil sa lagay ng pangkalusugan ang dahilan ng kanyang pagbawi sa kanyang senatorial bid.
Inamin din nito na sumailalim siya sa isang medical procedure nitong Lunes matapos madiskubre na mayroon siyang angina coronary disease o uri ng sakit na may kinalaman sa puso.
“It is with a truly heavy heart that I announce the withdrawal of my senatorial bid,” ani Roque sa isang statement.
“I have recently undergone a percutaneous coronary intervention following the discovery of an unstable angina coronary disease earlier this week. In the days since the procedure, I have been forced to confront the reality of my physical situation and what it ultimately means for my aspirations to public service.” Saad ni Roque
Ayon sa dating presidential Spokesperson, bagaman mabigat sa kanyang loob na bitiwan ang kandidatura ay hindi rin umano niya maaring isantabi ang kanyang kalusugan.
Naipaabot na rin umano niya kay Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte at dating Special Assistant to the Pres. Bong Go ang kanyang hakbang.
Umaasa rin ito na magkakaroon pa siya ng pagkakataon na magsilbi bilang mambabatas o kawani ng gobyerno.
“I wish to thank all who have been so kind and supportive of my candidacy. I ran for senator because I wanted to be of service in a way that I know I will be highly effective. Whatever they may think of my politics, those who have seen my work in both the public and private sector can attest to what I would have brought to the Senate. Unfortunately, for the moment, it seems that God has other plans.”’ Dagdag pa nito.
Nagpasalamat din ito sa kanyang mga taga-suporta at nakasama sa paghahanda para sa kampanya, gayundin na nangako ng patuloy na pagsuporta sa administrasyon.
“It is my sincere hope that I will someday again have the honor to serve the Filipino people as a legislator, or in whatever other capacity I may be of service. I continue to support our President and this administration and wish only the best for our country. God bless us all!” pagtatapos ni Roque.
