Mga establisyimentong ipinasara dahil sa pagpaparumi sa Manila Bay nadagdagan pa
Apat pang establisyimento ang ipinasara dahil sa umanoy pagdudumi sa Manila Bay.
Ayon kay Environment Secretary Roy Cimatu, inilabas ng Laguna Lake Development Authority (LLDA) ang cease and desist order matapos makumpirma na ang 4 na commercial establishments ay hindi sumunod sa Effluent Standards for Class “SB” waters.
Ang sumusunod na kumpanya ay inutusan na isara ang kanilang water sources at wastewater discharging facilities:
- Billion Building o Philippine Billion Real Estate Development Corporation sa Roxas Blvd., Pasay City
- HK Sun Plaza sa Roxas Blvd., Pasay City
- Tramway Bayview Buffet Restaurant sa Roxas Blvd. kanto ng Layug St., Pasay City
- D. Circle Hotel sa M.H. Del Pilar St., Malate, Manila
Ayon kay Cimatu, nagsagawa ang LLDA ng saturation activities sa Manila Bay gayundin ang laboratory analysis sa wastewater sample at nadiskubre na ang 4 na establisyimento ay lumabag sa environmental regulations.
Dapat anyang tumigil ang operasyon ng naturang mga kumpanya hanggang hindi nila naitatama ang kanilang mga paglabag.
Ipapatupad ng Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) ang kautusan sa pamamagitan ng pagsuspinde sa kanilang Environment Compliance Certificate (ECC) at building permits.
Una nang ipinatigil ng gobyerno ang operasyon ng 3 restaurants dahil sa polusyong ginawa nila sa Manila Bay.
