Sa ngayon, sinabi ni Panelo na maituturing pang inosente si Lapeña sa mga akusasyon dahil wala pa namang pinal na hatol ang korte.
Ayon kay Panelo, personal na kakilala ng pangulo si Lapeña at alam nito ang kanyang kakayahan.
