Arroyo, nais ibaba ang age of criminality sa 9-anyos

Nais ni House Speaker Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo na ibaba ang pananagutan sa krimen ng mga kabataan sa edad na 9-anyos.

Nakatakdang dumalo si Arroyo sa House committee hearing ukol sa isyu sa Lunes (January 21).

Tatalakayin ng justice committee ang House Bill No. 505 na inihain ni Tarlac 2nd District Rep. Victor Yap na layong ibaba ang age of criminal liability na sa kasalukuyan ay nasa edad 15-anyos.

Sa ilalim ng batas, ang kabataang 15-anyos pababa ay exempted o walang pananagutan sa krimen.

Noong nakaraang taon ay naghain si Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III ng panukalang batas na layong ibaba ang criminal liability sa edad naman na 13-anyos.

Argumento ng mga mambabatas na nagsusulong sa pagbaba ng age of criminal liability ang ilang kaso na kinasasangkutan ng mga kabataan na ang edad ay mas mababa pa sa 15-anyos.
