DOH tali ang kamay sa reasearch para sa medical marijuana

Aminado ang Department of Health na hindi maaring makapagsagawa ng full blast na pag-aaral o clinical studies  ang kanilang hanay kaugnay sa medical use sa marijuana.

Sa pulong balitaan sa Malacañang, sinabi ni Health Usec. Eric Domingo na kinakailangan na magkaroon muna ng batas na dapat irehistro ang marijuana bilang isang produkto na maaring magamit sa paggamot.

Sa ngayon, hindi rehistradong produkto ang marijuana sa Food and Drugs Administration (FDA).

Paliwanag pa ni Domingo, hindi maaring gumastos ng pera ang gobyerno para magsagawa ng pananaliksik sa isang produkto na hindi naman maaring irehistro sa Pilipinas.

Sa ngayon, may ginagawa nang pag-aaral ang Dangerous Drugs Board, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, Philippine Institute for Traditional Alternative Healthcare subalit hindi pa makapag full blast dahil sa kawalan ng kaukulang batas.

“I think FDA will have to wait for an enabling law that will allow it to be a registrable prodtuct before we can actually consider pouring a some resources into clinical researches for it”, paliwanag pa ni Domingo.
