Mary Jane Veloso muling nabigyan ng reprieve

Binigyan ng panibagong reprieve ng pamahalaan ng Indonesia ang Pinay na si Mary jane Veloso.

Ipinaliwanag ni Attorney General M. Prasetyo na hahayaan muna nilang matapos dito sa bansa ang kaso ng drug courier na umaming nag-utos kay Veloso na magpuslit ng droga sa kanilang bansa.

Bukod dito, inamin din ng Attorney General’s Office (AGO) na prayoridad ng kanilang tanggapan ngayon na tulungan si Indonesian President Joko Widodo na palakasin ang kanilang sadsad na ekonomiya.

Ang naturang tanggapan kasi ang katuwang ng Office of the President sa ilang usaping legal na may kinalaman sa pagpapalakas ng kanilang ekonomiya.

Magugunitang unang nabigyan ng reprieve si Veloso noong April 26, 2015 kung saan siya lang ang nag-iisang naisalba mula sa hanay ng mga binitay na drug convicts.

Noong nakaraang buwan ng Setyembre ay hindi rin itinuloy ang pagpataw ng death penalty sa labing-apat na convicts dahil sa economic slowdown na nararanasan ng Indonesia sa kasalukuyan.
