Checkpoint operations sinimulan na ng PNP sa pag-arangkada ng election period mula ngayong araw
Sinimulan na ng Philippine National Police ang nationwide checkpoint operations bilang bahagi ng pagsisimula ng election period ngayong araw.
Isang kick-off ceremony ang ginanap hatinggabi sa Camp Karingal, Quezon City.
Pinangunahan mismo ito nina Comelec Chairman Sheriff Abas, National Capital Region Police Office chief Director Guillermo Eleazar at Quezon City Police District Chief Joselito Esquivel.
Matapos ang kick-off ceremony, nagsagawa na ng checkpoints ang mga tauhan ng QCPD partikular sa Elliptical Road.
Nagbabala si Abas sa mga mahuhulihan ng baril na sila ay kakasuhan ng election offense.
Ininspeksyon naman nina Eleazar at PNP chief Director General Oscar Albayalde ang mga inilatag na checkpoints sa mga lungsod ng Maynila at San Juan.
Ang paglalatag ng checkpoints sa 1,600 na lungsod at bayan sa bansa ay alinsunod sa Resolution No. 10468 ng Comelec.
