Sumuko sa otoridad ang 5 miyembro ng Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF) sa Bgy. Makainis, General Salipada K Pendatun, Maguindanao.
Ayon kay Lt. Col. Harold M. Cabunoc, Commanding Officer ng 33rd Infantry (Makabayan) Battalion, ang mga sumuko ay mga miyembro ng BIFF faction sa pangunguna ni Commander Mayogantong Bansil, isang notorious na rebelde na sangkot sa ilang pag-atake sa mga tropa ng gobyerno at sibilyan.
Nagpadala anya si Commander Mayogantong ng surrender feelers matapos malaman ang presensya ng mga otoridad sa kalapit na bayan ng Paglat.
“His relative contacted me by phone to confirm his willingness to lay down his arms. He was afraid that we will launch offensives against his group on the same day,” pahayag ni Cabunoc.
Isinuko ni Bansil at mga tauhan nito ang matataas na kalibre ng mga armas kabilang ang Cal. 50 Sniper Rifle, 2 M1 Garand Rifles, at 40mm M79 Grenade Launcher.
Nakatakdang iprisinta ang mga isinukong armas kay Brigadier General Robert Dauz, Commander ng 1st Mechanized Infantry Brigade, ang unit na may operational control sa 33rd Infantry Battalion.
Pinuri ni Dauz ang mga operatiba sa kanilang kampanya laban sa terorismo.
“You have shown the expertise in handling the security threats without incurring casualties. Share these best practices in the conduct of operations to all Army units in Central Mindanao,” ani Dauz.
Sinabi naman ni Major General Cirilito Sobejana, Commander ng Army’s 6th Infantry Division, wala ng pagtataguan ang mga rebelde.
“We have won the support of the people in Central Mindanao. The people themselves have voluntarily provided information about the hiding places of the terrorists,” ani Sobejana.
Ang 33rd Infantry Battalion ang responsable sa pagsuko ng iba’t ibang terror groups sa Maguindanao at Sultan Kudarat sa pamamagitan ng combat operations, community engagements, at civil affairs activities
