DFA: Birth Certificate, hindi kailangan sa renewal ng electronic passport

Nilinaw ng Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) na hindi kailangan ng may expired na electronic passport na magsumite ng birth certificate sa pagre-renew.

Paglilinaw ito ni DFA Assistant Secretary Elmer Cato matapos malito ang mga netizens sa renewal ng pasaporte na kailangan ang birth certificate.

Ayon kay Cato, para sa electronic o e-passport na kulay dark maroon ay hindi na kailangang magdala ng orihinal na birth certificate kung mayroon na ng naturang uri ng passport dahil na-capture na ang data noong ito ay i-apply.

Pero para anya sa mga e-passport na inilabas bago ang 2011, kailangang iprisinta ang birth certificate.

Kung wala naman anyang e-passport ay dapat na magsumite ng birth certificate kapag magre-renew ng pasaporte.

Una rito ay ibinunyag ni DFA Secretary Teddy Boy Locsin na kinuha ng tinanggal nilang contractor ang data ng passport holders kaya required ng magdala ng birth certificate kapag magre-renew ng nasabing dokumento.
