EcoWaste Coalition, umapela sa “balloon drop” event ng Cove Manila

Umapela ang EcoWaste Coalition sa planong pagsasawa ng Cove Manila ng Guinness World Record event sa loob ng Okada Manila sa Parañaque City.

Sa isang panayam, sinabi ni EcoWaste Coalition national coordinator Aileen Lucero na dapat bigyan ng konsiderasyon at pag-isipang mabuti ang pagdaraos ng event.

Makadadagdag aniya sa dami ng basura sa bansa ang planong pagpapakawala nang mahigit 130,000 lobo sa Bisperas ng Bagong Taon.

Pangungunahan sana ang New Year’s Eve Countdown Party ng international dance music icon na si Pete Tong.

Maliban sa naturang environmental watch group, marami ring netizen ang tumutol sa naturang event.

Paliwanag ng Cove Manila, biodegradable ang mga gagamiting lobo at pinlano anila ito nang may solid environmental management protocols.

Anila pa, planong i-recycle ang mga lobo para magamit pa sa ibang bagay o pagkakataon.

Ngunit ayon kay Lucero, gawa sa rubber ang lobo kung kaya’t imposible itong ma-recycle.

Marami rin naman aniyang ibang paraan para ipagdiwang at salubungin ang Bagong Taon.

Matatandaang ipinag-utos na ng Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) ang pagpapahinto sa balloon drop event.
