Nasagip na IPs na namamalimos sa Metro Manila, umakyat na sa higit 1K – NCRPO
Umakyat na sa 1,030 ang mga indigenous people o IP na namamalimos sa Metro Manila ang nasagip ng mga otoridad.
Batay sa latest record ng National Capital Region Police Office o NCRPO, ang bilang ay naitala mula December 11, 2018 hanggang alas-singko ng umaga ng araw ng Pasko (December 25, 2018).
Karamihan sa mga na-rescue ay mga Aeta, na umabot na sa 202, at mga Badjao, na nasa 198. Mayroon ding mga Batang Hamog at iba pa na nasagip.
Pinakamaraming na-rescue na IPs ang Manila Police District at sinundan ng Quezon City Police District.
Ang mga nasagip ay nai-turn over na sa Department of Social Welfare and Development o DSWD offices, mga opisyal ng barangay o naibalik na sa kani-kanilang mga kaanak.
Ang pagsagip sa mga IP na namamalimos ay bahagi ng NCRPO Recapitulation, alinsunod sa Presidential Decree no. 1563 o Mendicancy Law of 1978.
