937 na indigenous people na namamalimos sa Metro Manila, nasagip – NCRPO
Umabot na sa 937 indigenous people o IP na dumayo sa Metro Manila upang mamalimos ngayong holiday season ang na-rescue ng mga otoridad, batay sa datos na ibinahagi ni National Capital Region Police Office o NCRPO Chief Police Director Guillermo Eleazar.
Naitala ang bilang mula noong December 11, 2018 hanggang alas-singko ng umaga December 23, 2018.
Sa NCRPO Recapitulation, kabuuang 124 ang isinagawang operasyon ng mga otoridad, sa nabanggit ng period.
Kabilang sa mga nasagip ay mga Aeta at Badjao, maging ilang batang hamog.
Pinakamaraming na-rescue ang Manila Police District, at sinundan ng Quezon City Police District.
Ayon kay Eleazar, ang pagsagip sa mga IP ay alinsunod sa Presidential Decree no. 1563 o Mendicancy Law o 1978.
Ang mga na-rescue ay binigyan lamang ng warning o kaya’y nai-turnover na sa Department of Social Welfare and Development o DSWD offices.
