First 1,000 days law nilagdaan na ni Pangulong Duterte
Nilagdaan na ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang first 1,000 days law na naglalayong bigyan ng health at nutrition services ang mga bagong panganak na sanggol at magtatatag ng National Nutrition Council.
Nakasaad sa Republic Act 11148 o Kalusugan at Nutrisyon ng mga Nanay Act, na dapat tiyaking mayroong comprehensive, sustainable multi-sectoral strategies para sa mga sanggol, bata, buntis, lactating women at adolescent females.
Inaasatan din ang Department of Health (DOH), National Nutrition Council (NNC) at ang Department of Agriculture (DA) na makipag-ugnayan sa ibang sangay ng pamahalaan maging ng local government units para bumalangkas ng national nutrition policies, plans, strategies at iba pa para masigurong maayos na mabibigyan ng nutrisyon ang mga ito.
Magsisilbing ex-officio chairperson ng NNC ang kalihim ng DOH habang vice chairpersons naman ang kalihim ng DILG at DA.
Magiging miyembro ng board ng council ang mga kalihim ng Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Department of Science and Technology (DOST), Department of Budget and Management (DBM) at National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA).
