Rekomendasyon ng AFP at PNP na palawigin ang martial law sa Mindanao posibleng aprubahan ni Pang. Duterte

Maaring aprubahan ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang rekomendasyon ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (ADP) at Philippine National Police (PNP) na palawigin pa ang martial law sa Mindanao region.

Ayon kay Presidential Spokesman Salvador Panelo, dahil sa suporta ni Bishop Martin Jumoad at ng mga residente sa Mindanao region, maaring palawigin pa ng pangulo ang batas militar.

Pero sa ngayon, sinabi ni Panelo na patuloy pang tinitimbang at pinag-aaralan ng pangulo ang rekomendasyon ng AFP at PNP.

Pangunahin aniya sa mga ikinukunsidera ng pangulo ang kaligtasan ng mamamayan.

“Of course, the President will always evaluate whatever recommendations that the AFP and the PNP will give him. But given the support of martial law in Mindanao, even by a Catholic bishop and the citizens there, the President may be persuaded to go on to approve the recommendation. But of course, again, that is the prerogative of the President,” ayon kay Panelo.

Matatandaang pinairal ng pangulo ang martial law noong may 2017 matapos sumiklab ang giyera sa Marawi City na pinangunahan ng teroristang ISIS at Maute group.

Tatagal ang martial law hanggang sa December 31, 2018.
