NAMFREL, suportado ang panukalang obligahin ang mga kandidato sa election debates
Suportado ng National Movement for Free Elections (Namfrel) ang panukalang obligahin ang mga kandidato sa pambansa at lokal na posisyon na lumahok sa mga debate na i-oorganisa ng Commission on Elections (COMELEC).
Ayon kay Namfrel Secretary General Eric Alvia, suportado nila ang inisyatibong ito at sana ay kahit isang beses ay makalahok anya ang mga kandidato sa election debates.
Makatutulong anya ito upang malaman ng mga botante ang kakayahan ng mga kandidato sa pagtugon sa mga isyu.
Maari rin anyang mapanagot ng mga botante ang mga kandidato sakaling maihal na sa pwesto.
“This will elevate the election campaign to focus on issues and solutions as articulated by the candidates themselves, which allows the voters to assess performance and demand accountability once they are elected to a public post,” ani Alvia.
Ang panukalang obligahin ang mga kandidato sa election debates ay ipinanukala ni Siquijor Rep. Ramon Rocamora.
