“Day of rest” ng ilang trucking companies, maliit lamang ang epekto – DOTr

Magiging maliit lamang ang epekto sa port operations ng isasawang “truck holiday” ng iba’t ibang trucking groups.

Ito ang tiniyak ng Department of Transportation o DOTr sa publiko kasunod ng “Day of Rest” ng trucking companies, na isasagawa mula November 19 hanggang 24, 2018.

Ito ay bilang protesta sa Department Order no. 2017-09 o mandatory 15-year age limit para sa mga bus at trak.

Nilinaw naman ni DOTr Undersecretary for Maritime Fernando Juan Perez na ang mga maliliit na kumpanya lamang ang kasama sa protesta, habang ang mga malalaking trucking companies ay hindi umano kabahagi sa protesta.

Ibig sabihin, tuloy-tuloy ang operasyon at deliveries ng malalaking trucking companies sa isang linggong day of rest ng mga maliliit na kumpanya ng trucking.

Kaugnay nito, sinabi ni Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board o LTFRB na mayroong kasunduan na ang mga trucker na mayroong units na mas matanda pa sa labing limang taon ay maaari pang ituloy ang kani-kanilang prangkisa sa kasagsagan ng transition period.

Pero kailangang masiguro na pasado ang mga unit sa roadworthiness test ng Motor Vehicle Inspection System o MVIS ng Land Transportation Office o LTO.
