Villanueva ikinatuwa ang paglusot sa Senado ng rice tarrification bill
Ikinalugod ni Senator Joel Villanueva ang pagpasa ng Senado sa rice tarrification bill sa ikatlo at huling pagbasa.
Sa isang pahayag, sinabi ni Villanueva na bilang isa sa mga may-akda ng panukala, ay kagustuhan talaga nilang malayang makapasok ang murang bigas sa bansa.
Sa pamamagitan anya nito ay kahit paano’y maiibsan ang paghihirap ng mga Filipino sa tumataas na presyo ng bigas.
“As one of the authors of the bill, it has been our consistent call to liberalize the entry of cheaper rice in the country to ease the burden of our kababayans suffering from the rising price of rice,” ani Villanueva.
Sabotong 14-0 ay inaprubahan ng rice tarrification bill o ang Senate Bill no. 1998.
Layon nitong alisin ang mga restriksyon sa pag-aangkat ng bigas.
Samantala, umaasa ang senador na makatutulong din ang panukalang batas para tugunan ang problema sa rice shortage at rice smuggling.
