Rekomendasyon suspendihin ang P2 excise tax sa oil products sa 2019, inaprubahan ni Pangulong Duterte
Inaprubahan ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang panukala ng economic managers na suspindihin ang pagpapatupad ng panibagong excise tax sa produktong petrolyo sa susunod na taon.
Sa ilalim ng TRAIN Law, dapat pagpasok ng Enero 2019, may panibagong P2 na excise tax na ipapataw sa presyo ng mga produktong petrolyo.
Pero ayon kay Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Sec. Benjamin Diokno, ipinabatid sa kaniya ni Executive Sec. Salvador Medialdea na inaprubahan ng pangulo ang suspensyon nito.
“I just got communication from the Executive Secretary that our proposal to temporarily suspend additional oil excise tax next year has been approved,” ayon kay Diokno.
Inirekomenda ang suspensyon dahil sa patuloy na pagsipa ng inflation na nakaaapekto ng labis sa publiko.
Una rito, sinabi ng Department of Finance (DOF) na kahit limang sunod na linggo nang bumaba ang presyo ng produktong petrolyo ay tuloy ang rekomendasyon na suspendihin ang excise tax sa oil products.
