Binigyan ng promosyon ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang co-author ng kontrobersiyal na Oplan Double Barrel, Oplan Tokhang at Oplan High Value Target na bahagi ng anti-drug war campaign ng administrasyon.
Mula sa ranggong Director, iniangat ng pangulo sa ranggong Deputy Director General si Camilo Cascolan na ngayon ay pinuno ng PNP Civil Security Group.
Bago nailipat sa Civil Security Group, nanilbihan muna si Cascolan ng anim na linggo bilang pinuno ng National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO).
Samantala, binigyang din ng promosyon ni Pangulong Duterte ang dalawang opisyal ng Philippine Coast Guard (PCG).
Kabilang sa mga napromote sa posisyon na Vice Admiral sina Joel Garcia at Rolando Legaspi.
