Mabilis na refund sa travel at terminal tax ng mga OFW inihirit sa Kamara
Ipinamamadali ni House Committee on Banks and Financial Intermediaries Chairman Henry Ong ang pagre-refund sa travel tax at terminal fees sa mga OFWs.
Ayon kay Ong, hindi na dapat patagalin ang problema na ito dahil kung hindi ay mapipilitan ang Kongreso na manghimasok para sa mga Pinoy migrant workers.
Kailangan anyang gumamit ng makabagong teknolohiya o financial at information technologies para magawa ng mga airlines at international airport agencies na ma-i-transmit na ang travel taxes at terminal fees direkta sa mga OFW.
Tiyak naman aniyang may personal data ng mga OFW ang mga airline companies na bumabyahe sa international flights para madali at mabilis ang pagrerefund sa mga ito.
Ang gagawin anyang pagpapapila sa 2.3 Million OFWs para maibigay ang nasa P277.65 Million travel tax at terminal fee refund ay lumang paraan at pahirap lamang para sa mga OFWs.
Ang pagre-refund ng travel tax at airport o terminal fee sa mga OFWs ay salig sa Section 35 ng Migrant Workers and Overseas Filipinos Act of 1995.
