Isyu sa agawan ng teritoryo dadalhin ni Duterte sa Asean Summit

Muling igigiit ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte sa 33rd Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean)Summit na ginaganap ngayon sa Singapore  ang posisyon ng Pilipinas sa agawan ng teritoryo sa South China Sea.

Base sa statement ng Malacañang, makikipag-ugnayan ang pangulo sa mga leader na kasapi sa Asean pati na sa dialogue partners gaya ng China, Russia at US.

Bukod sa isyu ng South China Sea, ididiga rin ng pangulo ang usapin sa illegal na droga, transnational at trans- boundary issues gaya ng terorismo, violent extremism at human trafficking pati na ang disaster risk reduction and management.

Matatandaang inaangkin na ng China ang halos buong South china sea kabilang na ang ilang bahagi ng West Philippine Sea.

Nauna dito ay sinabi ng Department of Foreign Affairs na ilang Asean leaders na rin ang humihingi ng oras para magkaroon ng one-on-one meeting kasama ang pangulo.
