Tax evasion case laban sa Rappler ipinasasampa na sa korte ng DOJ

Pinasasampahan na ng kasong tax evasion ng Department of Justice (DOJ) ang online news agency na Rappler.

Ang pasya ng DOJ ay lumabas apat na buwan matapos ideklarang submitted for resolution na ang reklamong inihain ng Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR).

Nakitaan ng probable cause ng DOJ para isulong sa korte ang tax evasion case laban sa Rappler.

Batay sa reklamo ng BIR noong Marso, bumili ng common share ang Rappler Holdings Copr. o RHC sa Rappler Inc. na nagkakahalaga ng P19,245,975.

At pagkatapos ay nag-isyu ito ng Philippine Depositary Receipts (PDRs) sa dalawang dayuhang kumpanya na nagkakahalaga ng P181,658.758.

Ayon sa BIR aabot sa mahigit P133 million ang pananagutan ng Rappler dahil sa hindi nito binayarang buwis.

Nakapaloob dito ang mahigit P91 million na income tax at mahigit P42 million na value added tax para sa taong 2015.
