Bubuhayin ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang National Anti-Illegal Drug Task Force.
Sa lecture ni Pangulong Duterte sa mga gabinete ukol sa illegal drugs at militarisasyon, sinabi nito na bubuuo sa task force ang mga personnel assets mula sa Philippine National Police (PNP), Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Bureau of Customs (BOC), Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) at iba pang sangay ng pamahalaan.
Ayon sa pangulo, maglalabas siya ng memorandum para sa task force.
Umaasa si Pangulong Dduterte na sa pamamagitan ng task force, malaki ang maitutulong nito para matugunan ang problema sa kalakalan ng ilegal na droga.
“Also, what we have is the moving forward to eradicate illegal drug trade, activate a National Anti-illegal Drug Task Force. The task force will be composed of the personnel assets from the PNP, AFP, Bureau of Customs, Coast Guard and the other agencies of the government,” ayon sa pangulo.
Hindi lang kasi aniya ang ilegal na droga ang problema sa bansa kundi maging ang iba pang uri ng kemikal at armas.
Matatandaang kamakailan lamang nagpalabas na si Pangulong Duterte ng executive order number 66 para itatag at maayos na maipatupad ang anti-illegal drugs strategy.
