Pagbabalik ng terminal fee at travel tax hindi lamang responsibilidad ng CAAP

Sinagot ng Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) ang pahayag ni Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III tungkol sa pagpapabalik ng terminal fees at travel tax na nakolekta mula sa mga overseas Filipino workers (OFWs).

Ayon kay CAAP spokesperson Eric Apolonio, sa pitong mga international airport na hawak ng CAAP, isa lamang dito ang dinadaanan ng mga OFW at ito ang Davao International Airport.

Paglilinaw nito, ang mga international airport sa General Santos, Puerto Princesa, Iloilo, Zamboanga, Kalibo, at Laoag ay para lamang sa mga turista.

Ani Apolonio, halos lahat ng mga OFW ay ginagamit ang Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) sa Pasay, Clark, at Cebu na hindi hawak ng CAAP.

Dagdag pa nito, ang travel tax ay kasama sa ticket fee dahil wala namang paraan ang mga airline para malaman kung ang bumili ba nito ay OFW o hindi.

Kaya aniya mayroong refund center sa mga paliparan upang doon kuhanin ng mga OFW ang kanilang refund.
