Gobyerno handa na sa pagpili ng bagong major Telco sa bansa

Dalawang araw bago ang pagbubukas at pagsuri sa selection documents, sinabi ni National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) Commissioner Gamaliel A. Cordoba na handa na sila para sa susunod na bagong major Player sa Philippine telecoms Market.

“We are all set for the transparent selection of the New Major Player in the Philippine Telecoms Market. In fact, we are holding our third ‘mock’ bidding today to ensure that our Selection Committee, Technical Working Group, and Secretariat are prepared to receive and process the Selection Documents,” Ani Cordoba.

Naganap ang una at ikalawang mock biddings noong Oktubre 19 at 26, at ang naturang simulations ay bahagi aniya ng pagsisikap ng komisyon na siguruhing magiging transparent at efficient ang selection process.

Ipakakalat naman ng Philippine National Police (PNP) ang kanilang mga tauhan at bomb-sniffing dogs para mapanatili ang kauyusan at seguridad sa gaganaping selection process.

Sa hiwalay na pahayag, sinabi naman ni Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Acting Secretary Eliseo Rio Jr., na ang mga lalahok na may Highest Committed Level of Service (HCLoS) ay mapapasama sa Document Verification Phase.

Batay sa NTC Memorandum Circular No. 09-09-2018, ang mananalong bidder ay dapat mayroong HCLoS sa larangan ng National Population Coverage, Minimum Average Broadband Speed, at Capital and Operational Expenditure sa loob ng five-year Commitment Period.

Magbubukas ang bids alas 10:00 ng umaga ng November 7, 2018 na mapapanuod ng publiko live sa Facebook page ng DICT.

Ang pagpili sa bagong major player ay isa sa mga highlights sa ikatlong State of the Nation Address ni Pangulong Rodrigo R. Duterte.
