86 undocumented OFWs mula sa UAE nakauwi na ng bansa

Nakabalik na ng Pilipinas kahapon ang nasa 86 undocumented overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) mula sa United Arab Emirates.

Ito na ang ikapitong batch ng Pinoy workers na nag-avail ng amnesty program ng pamahalaan ng UAE.

Sinalubong ng mga kinatawan ng Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) at Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) ang mga OFWs sa Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 2.

Marami sa mga umuwing manggagawa ay nagtrabaho bilang household service workers.

Binigyan sila ng tulong pinansyal ng DFA na aabot sa P5,000, livelihood assistance mula sa OWWA habang sinagot din ng gobyerno ang gastos sa pag-uwi nila sa bansa.

Samantala, patuloy na hinihikayat ng gobyerno ang mga hindi dokumentadong manggagawang Pinoy sa UAE na mag-avail ng amnesty program.
