Rehabilitasyon ng MRT-3 popondohan ng Japan

Isasailalim sa rehabilitasyon ang MRT-3 at ang pondo na gagamitin ay mula sa Japan.

Ayon sa Department of Transportation (DOTr) sa November 7 nakatakdang lagdaan ng Pilipinas at Japan ang loan agreement para sa rehabilitasyon ng MRT-3 na nagkakahalaga ng P18 billion.

Sinabi ni DOTr Undersecretary for Railways Timothy John Batan, sa sandaling matapos ang rehabilitasyon magmimistulang brand new ang MRT-3.

Sa ilalim ng loan agreement, babalik ang Sumitomo-Mitsubushi Heavy Industries bilang maintenance contractor ng MRT-3.

Ang Sumitomo ang designer at builder ng naturang railway system.

Sakop ng gagawing rehabilitasyonang pagsasaayos sa mga tren, radio system, CCTV, signalling suste, power supply, at public address system.

Inaasahan ding aayusin ng contractor ang rail tracks, road rail vehicles, depot equipment, elevators at escalators, at iba pang station-building equipment.

Tatagal ng 41 buwan ang rehabilitasyon, 31 buwan dito ay para sa simultaneous rehabilitation at maintenance works habang ang 12 buwan naman ay “defect liability period” ng contractor.
