ISAFP commander Macairog Alberto, bagong Army Chief

Itinalaga ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang commander ng Intelligence Service ng Armed of the Philippines (ISAFP) na si Maj. Gen. Macairog Alberto bilang sunod na commanding general ng Philippine Army.

Pamumunuan ni Alberto ang 98,000 na miyembro ng Army simula sa Lunes October 15 kasabay ng retirement ni Gen. Rolando Joselito Bautista.

Sa sulat ng Pangulo kay Defense Sec. Delfin Lorenzana, nakasaad ang inaprubahang posisyon nito na bagong Army chief.

Si Alberto, na miyembro ng Philippine Military Academy Class of 1986, ay naging commander ng Task Force Davao mula June 2014 hanggang August 2015, noong si Duterte ang Davao Mayor.

Nagtapos si Alberto ng ibang trainings sa counter terrorism at intelligence.

Mayroon itong degree sa Strategic Security Studies at Master’s Degree in Public Management.

Si Alberto ay tumanggap ng Distinguished Conduct Star, Gold Cross Medal, Bronze Cross Medal, military merit medals for combat at iba pang non-combat medals.
