Ces Drilon dumepensa sa kasong isinampa ni Gretchen Fullido
Sinagot ni ABS-CBN news executive Ces Drilon ang mga naging akuasyon ni Gretchen Fullido na naging bahagi siya ng “victim-shaming” campaign laban sa nasabing TV reporter-host.
Sinabi ni Drilon na hindi siya kailanman naging hadlang sa pagsasampa ng reklamo ni Fullido laban sa ilang kasamahan sa ABS-CBN at isa rin siyang advocate ng karapatan ng mga kababaihan.
Sa pamamagitan ng kanyang social media post, ipinaliwanag ni Drilon na mali ang mga bintang na pinakawalan sa kanya ni Fullido.
Kasunod ito ng kanyang pahayag na dapat lamang na magsalita ang mga kababaihan lalo’t biktima sila ng pagsasamantala tulad ng sexual harassment.
Nauna dito ay nagsampa si Fullido ng sexual harassment complaint laban sa dating executive producer na si Cheryl Favila at segment producer na si Maricar Asprec.
Sinampahan naman niya ng libel case sina Drilon, Venencio Borromeo at ang reporter na si Marie Lozano.
Inakusahan ni Fullido sina Drilon, Borromeo at Lozano na nakipagsabwatan kina Favila at Asprec para sirain ang kanyang kredibilidad.
Nag-ugat ang kaso laban kina Favila at Asprec dahil sa umano’y pagpapadala ng mag ito sa kanya ng ilang mga mensahe sa social media at text messages na puno ng “sexual insinuations”.
Nagsampa siya ng sexual harassment complaint kina Favila at Asprec sa pamunuan ng ABS-CBN network pero ito ay ibinasura.
Noong nakalipas na Hulyo ay sinibak si Favila makaraang mapatunayan na guilty ito sa “gross miscounduct” na bahagi pa rin ng reklamo ni Fullido.
Narito ang pahayag ni Drilon sa isyu:
“It pains me to have to issue this statement because women should support each other especially in an issue like sexual harassment.
Throughout my life, I have been an advocate of women’s rights and women’s empowerment. As a victim of sexual harassment once before, it is unthinkable for me to say what Gretchen Fullido alleges I did.
I encourage and support women to exercise their rights to come out with truthful stories of harassment and abuse and I would never belittle any such move.
I was asked to testify in an internal, confidential investigation into Gretchen’s allegations and some of what I said during the investigation has been distorted.
I reserve the right to consider legal proceedings against these false allegations and attack on my reputation. Again I would never belittle any woman coming out to speak of any abuse committed against her. It is against everything I stand for as a woman”.
