21 Pinoy seafarers na standed sa India pauuwiin na ng DFA

Nagbigay na ng direktiba Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) sa embahada ng Pilipinas sa New Delhi, India na tulungan ang mga na-stranded na Pinoy seafarer.

Na-stranded ng 21 Pinoy seafarers na lulan ng MV Evangelia M matapos iwan ng kanilang employer sa isang pantalan sa Southeastern India tatlong buwan na ang nakakaraan.

Ipinag-utos na ni Foreign Affairs Secretary Alan Peter Cayetano na magpadala ng Consular officers sa Kakinada Port.

Ito ay may layong mahigit 1,800 kilometers mula sa New Delhi.

Sinabi rin ni Cayetano sa DFA Office of Migrant Workers Affairs na humingi ng tulong sa Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) para matiyak ang agarang repatriation at pagbabayad sa kanilang sweldo.
