Committee report na nagbabasura sa impeachment complaint vs 7 SC justices, inaprubahan na
Pinagtibay na ng House Justice Committee ang pagbasura sa impeachment complaint laban kay Chief Justice Teresita Leonardo-De Castro at anim pang Supreme Court Associate Justices.
Sa botong 22-0, inaprubahan ng komite na pinamumunuan ni Oriental Mindoro Rep. Salvador Doy Leacheon ang committee report na nagsasabing hindi sufficient in substance ang reklamo.
Nauna rito sa naganap na pagdinig ilang linggo na ang nakalipas ibinasura sa botong 23-1 ang reklamong impeachment sa pitong mahistrado.
Bukod kay De Castro, kabilang sa sa ipinagharap ng impeachment complaint sa Kamara sina Associate Justices Diosdado Peralta, Lucas Bersamin, Andres Reyes Jr., Francis Jardeleza, Noel Tijam at Alexander Gesmundo.
Ang reklamong impeachment ay kaugnay sa pagboto ng mga ito sa quo warranto petition laban sa pinatalsik na si CJ Maria Lourdes Sereno.
Sina Albay Rep. Edcel Lagman, Ifugao Rep. Teddy Baguilat at Magdalo Rep. Gary Alejano ang naging complainant sa reklamong impeachment.
