Ayon sa Phivolcs, ang episentro ng lindol ay sa layong 21 kilometro Timog-Silangan ng Malaybalay City.
May lalim na pitong kilometro ang pagyanig at tectonic ang dahilan.
Hindi naman inaasahang ang pinsala sa ari-arian at aftershocks.
