Pag-aaralan pa ng Office of the President ang legal documents kaugnay sa napipintong joint oil exploration sa pagitan ng Israeli firm na Ratio Petroleum at ng Pilipinas sa Palawan.
Ayon kay Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, sa ngayon, wala pang napipirmahang dokumento para sa oil exploration.
Pero ayon kay Roque, maituturing na approved in principle na ang naturang kasunduan.
Kinakailangan kasi aniya na idaan sa kasulatan ang kasunduan, malagdaan ng pangulo ng bansa at maireport sa Kongreso.
“Hindi po napirmahan. It is still for study of the Office of the President. But there is an agreement in principle. But the requirement is, it has to be in writing, signed by the President and reported to Congress,” ani Roque.
Sinabi pa ni Roque na kinakailangan na masiguro na naayon sa mga itinatakda sa Konstitusyon ang joint oil exploration sa Palawan.
Tiniyak pa ni Roque na malalagdaan din ang naturang kasunduan sa lalong madaling panahon.
“Sa lalong mabilis na panahon po. Secretary Cusi was there. The only reason why he went there was to focus on this negotiation. So it’s been concluded, but the legal documents will be studied by the Office of the President. And we will have to comply with the constitutional requirements nga na sabi ko kanina, in writings, signed by the President and a report given to Congress,” dagdag pa ni Roque.
