P1.7B-standby fund, inilaan ng DSWD sa papasok na Typhoon Mangkhut
Naglaan ang Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) ng P1.7 bilyong halaga ng standby fund, pondo sa pagkain at non-food items bago ang pagpasok ng Typhoon Mangkhut o Bagyong Ompong sa Miyerkules.
Kasabay nito ay nagtaas ang National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Operations Center ng alert status blue matapos pumasok ang Bagyong Neneng at walang 48 oras bago ang pagpasok ng Bagyong Ompong.
Nag-convene naman ang Emergency Telecommunications Cluster para talakayin at tiyakin na mananatiling operational ang mga linya ng komunikasyon pag tumama na ang Bagyong Ompong sa bansa.
Samantala, ang Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) at Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) ay naka-standby sa posibleng deployment ng kanilang mga tauhan kung kailangan.
