Nietes-Palicte boxing bout, nauwi sa split draw
Walang itinanghal na bagong WBO Flyweight World Champion sa paghaharap nina Donnie “Ahas” Nietes at Aston “Mighty” Palicte makaraan ang “split-decision draw.”
Natapos ng dalawang Pilipinong boksingero ang 12 rounds sa Superfly 3 na ginanap sa The Forum, sa Los Angeles, California.
Kapwa nagpakita ng lakas sina Nietes at Palicte.
Pero para sa mga hurado, split draw ang kanilang desisyon.
Sa isang judge, naka-iskor si Palicte ng 116-112, habang ang isang ay 118-110 para kay Nietes at sa pagdating sa ikatlong hurado, 114-114 draw.
Dahil dito, bakante pa rin ang WBO junior flyweight title.
Si Nietes ay may rekord na 41-1-5 sa kanyang professional career sa boxing, samantalang 24-2-1 naman si Palicte.
