Pumanaw na sa edad na 23 ang Olympic table tennis player na si Ian Lariba matapos ang pakikipaglaban sa sakit na cancer.
Inanunsyo ng Philippine Sports Commission ang pagpanaw ni Lariba Linggo ng gabi.
Si Lariba ay na-diagnose na mayroong leukemia noong nakaraang taon at na-admit sa St. Lukes BGC Taguig.
Noong August 23, nakumpleto pa ni Lariba ang 5-day chemotherapy protocol at isinailalim din sa MRI ang kaniyang utak at spine.
Si Lariba ay mula sa De La Salle University at kumatawan sa Pilipinas sa Rio Olympics noong 2016.
Kinilala din siya bilang MVP sa Season 75, 77 at 78 ng UAAP at kinilalang UAAP Athlete of the Year para sa Season 77 at 78.
