Makasaysayang biyahe ng pangulo sa Holy Land, sinimulan na

Pormal nang sinimulan ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang kanyang kauna-unahang biyahe sa Israel.

Maituturing na isang makasaysayang pangyayari ang biyahe ng pangulo sa Holy Land dahil ito ang unang beses na nagtungo sa naturang bansa ang presidente ng Pilipinas.

Ayon kay Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Undersecretary Ernetso Abella, layunin ng naturang pagbisita ng pangulo sa Israel na palakasin ang ugnayan ng dalawang bansa, partikular ang tungkol sa foreign policy.

Alas-2:30 ng hapon nang lumipad ang delegasyon ni Pangulong Duterte at inaasahan itong darating sa Ben Gurion International Airport ala-1 ng madaling araw bukas, September 3, oras sa Pilipinas.

Kasama ng pangulo sina Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea, Foreign Affairs Secretary Alan Peter Cayetano, Labor Secretary Silvestre Belo III, Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana, Trade Secretary Ramon Lopez, Environment Secretary Roy Cimatu, Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade, Energy Secretary Alfonso Cusi, National Security Adviser Hermogenes Esperon Jr., Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, Special Assistant to the President
Bong Go, Political Adviser Francis Tolentino, DILG officer-in-charge Eduardo Año, Senador Richard Gordon, at Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Commandant Elson Hermogino.

Pagdating ng pangulo sa Israel ay agad itong makikipagkita sa 1,400 Pinoy workers sa nasabing bansa.
